Who
we are
When your people feel informed, heard, and inspired, they do their best work.
At Candour, we believe the way you speak to your people shapes the way they show up. In a noisy, busy world, effective internal communication is the heartbeat of a thriving business. When people feel informed, heard and inspired, they do their best work. When they don’t, everything slows down.
We started Candour because too many organisations are either drowning in complexity or skimming the surface with generic messaging. We know there’s a better way – more human, more honest and far more effective.
With roots in marketing, communications and business strategy, our team brings decades of experience – and a shared belief in the power of clear, purposeful communication. We help companies across South Africa and beyond put their people back at the heart of the conversation. Whether you’re a growing business getting started with internal comms, or a large organisation navigating change, we’re here to help.

Carryn Dewing

With a journalism degree from Rhodes, she’s helped shape narratives for some of the continent’s most recognisable brands – including Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, FNB, Nestlé, Vodacom, and Woolworths.
She has led an award-winning team of specialists in one of South Africa’s foremost content marketing agencies; and, in 2025, she was elected Chairperson of the Institute for Internal Communication Africa, where she’s helping raise the profile of internal comms across the continent.
Carryn brings deep insight into what makes African businesses tick – and how great internal comms can bring purpose, people, and culture together in so many beautiful and powerful ways.

Why Candour?
Our name reflects our core values
We understand the nuance of the African business landscape, and we know that one-size-fits-all is no fit at all. Our work is strategic, culturally aware, tech-savvy, and grounded in what makes people tick.
Yes, we know the platforms. Yes, we can work the metrics. But at the heart of it all? It’s about stories. It’s about people. It’s about saying something real.
Whether you're leading through change, strengthening culture, or just want to stop sending emails no one reads — we’d love to help.
Candour over corporatese
Jargon doesn't connect–honesty does. We help you say what matters, clearly and confidently.
Clarity over clutter
You don’t need more content. You don’t need another channel. You need real connection. We help you cut through the noise and make every word count.
Connection over the cascade
People want to be seen beyond the employee number. They want to feel part of something. We help turn generic, top-down messaging into meaningful two-way conversations that change behaviour.
